No matter how grown up we, as a human race, try to pretend we are, no matter how tough our nations act, no matter how much evil is commanding the headlines and no matter how much reality TV is shoved down our throats, we all still have some common threads of humanity that will never be taken from us. We need to realize that we are not the sum total of what “we are told” in news sources and headlines. Some of it may be true but there are some things that we all have in common. We love our families. We all long to find or have found that someone special to love in our lives, our husbands or wives, we all have that seed of hope that no matter what, we will have and cherish what is important to us. We all strive towards providing food, homes, clothing and everyday needs for ourselves and those we love.
Why do we still watch movies, read books, write stories, create art, sculpt, write poetry, tell stories, dance, and sing? Why do we still laugh, cry, love, yearn, feel sad or anger or other emotions? Because of that seed of hope that some how, some way, one day, everything will be alright and we will be happy. Happy means different things to different cultures and different people, but it is what we all strive towards. Comfort and happiness. As writers, we have an obligation of telling not only our story, but other stories that contain the common threads of humanity. The happiness, the joy, the sorrow, the love, the things that unite us as a human race.
As readers, think about the kinds of stories you enjoy and think about why you enjoy them. My guess would be because there were things that struck a chord within you. A bit of humanity that you could identify with or that you were striving towards achieving. You felt something when you read, heard, or saw that story. You were moved by what happened. No matter what happens, let us all remember, we all are part of the race that inhabits this planet and lets work towards finding more of what we have in common than hating what is different.

This may not seem important to you; however, in order to get your submitted articles accepted by Global Freelance Writer, you need to ensure that you know the difference between meanings of words in various cultures.
This is because many submissions to Global Freelance Writer have to be edited for word meaning due to cultural differences in meaning. The difference in pronouncing and spelling certain words in various English speaking territories may seem insignificant; however, this is plays a very important role on the way that your article will affect your target audience.
It is also important to note that these differences are not only restricted to how words are written, but they also apply to the way in which verb morphology and tenses are used in these territories.
Some of the examples of the differences in words that are written in American English versus British English are inclusive of:
· Neighbor vs. Neighbour · Fulfill vs. Fulfill · Enroll vs. Enrol · Color vs. Colour

Learned vs. Learnt

Your ability to abide by and differentiate between the various territorial English language rules, will determine how successful you will be on Global Freelance Writer.
Although this may not seem like a big deal to many writers, be assured that your failure to spell words correctly, or use them in the correct tense (based on the English laws of different territories) will determine your success or failure as a freelance writer. For instance, you are going to submit an article to Global Freelance Writer that is about painting or design and you have an American target audience, ensure that you used the spelling ‘color’ instead of ‘colour.’ To find out how to submit an article contact us at professional@globalfreelancewriter.com |
